The Ducati 599 Mono concept was the culmination of recent interest insingle cylinder sportsbikes such as the KTM RC4 and my own admirationfor Ducati’s Supermono project of the early 1990s.
The 599 Mono was designed to rival to the KTM with technology developedduring the Supermono project in order to expand Ducati’s range andpursue the latest in market trends with minimum development costs.
